Perhaps you’ve heard that the 30% Solar Investment Tax Credit was extended through the end of 2019, as part of the tax and spending deal passed just before Congress went on break for the 2015 winter holidays.
Homeowners and business owners will continue to be able to claim a Federal Tax Credit for 30% of the cost of a new solar electric system through 2019, after that the tax credit rate starts to decline. In 2021 the tax credit goes away completely for residential solar, and drops to 10% for commercial solar.
