On Saturday, September 20, 2014, National Drive Electric Week participants in Cupertino, California set a Guinness World Record for the most all-electric cars in a parade: 507!
National Drive Electric Week, held September 15-21, 2014, is a “nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more.”
The following day, on Sunday, September 21, more than 400,000 people marched through New York peacefully to demand action on climate change. There were reports of more than 2,700 events held globally in support of the People’s Climate March.
This was the largest climate march in history. Marching under the slogan “to change everything, it takes everyone,” the diverse group of participants included leaders and members of indigenous communities, parents, children, elders, solar energy advocates, artists, beekeepers, scientists, and more.
